We are a small and friendly club who run Singarounds most weeks, with special Guest Nights about once a month. Past guests include Mawkin (who launched their first CD here many years ago), John Conolly, Jez Lowe, Pete Coe, Kathryn Roberts & Sean Lakeman, Damien Barber & Mike Wilson, and more recent and diverse newer faces to the Folk scene such as Emerald Hill, Said the Maiden and Delta Ladies.
On Singaround evenings you are welcome to chip in with songs, tunes, jokes, poems, monologues, or anything you would like to share with a friendly and appreciative audience or you can just watch and listen, and join in with the choruses if you will. We welcome traditional, contemporary and original material and a typical evening will produce a wide variety of content.
Although we are now in an open bar, we will continue to ask for your donations to participate, being £3 on Singaround Nights and £6 for Guest Nights (which will include a plate or two of delicious sandwiches). This will enable us to continue to book quality professional Guests and will also allow us to continue our previous policy of donating to good causes. We are now depositing £1 per head in the pubs Charity Jar.
Public Car Parks are nearby in Darby Drive or around the Town Centre, and are free after 6pm. Street parking is available in Darby Drive, which runs alongside and behind the pub. Single yellow lines apply until 6.30pm.
A selection of quality real ales will be on tap, and a good range of reasonably-priced drinks and beverages. For those who might like to eat before the session gets underway, we can recommend the generous hot meals which are served in the pub between 5 and 7pm.
